Erasmus+ KA171

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS)

Program: Erasmus+ KA171 Mobility of Higher Education Students and Staff Supported by External Policy Funds

Project Number: 2023-1-CZ01-KA171-HED-000136152

Project Duration: August 1, 2023 – July 31, 2026

The project aims to support, strengthen, and establish new capacities for inter-university academic, scientific, and research cooperation, as well as knowledge transfer in the area of study and research internationalization through the implementation of student and staff exchange programs. It focuses on academic fields such as IT, electrical engineering, science and research, international relations, educational support services, inclusion, and equal opportunities in education (higher education staff mobility).

Three partner institutions from Region No. 2 (Eastern Partnership) were selected for the project, all of which have a long-standing relationship with CTU in terms of research and academic activities. The partner institutions are the National Technical University of Ukraine „Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute,“ the Ukrainian Catholic University, and the Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.

The project will implement two credit mobility programs, including staff mobility.

Student at the National Technical University of Ukraine „Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute“

“During the 2023-2024 academic year, I studied at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague as part of an academic mobility program. At this university, I gained access to high-quality education and had the opportunity to work on an interesting and promising project. This project will form the basis of my bachelor’s thesis and, I hope, will help me continue my studies at the Czech Technical University as a master’s student. The research project I am working on is my first experience with scientific research. As part of this project, I have been deeply involved in the analysis of mobile network topologies, as well as in the development and implementation of algorithms for accurately identifying true neighboring base stations. Through this work, I have learned the fundamental principles of any scientific research: studying, systematizing, summarizing, classifying, and verifying. What I particularly value is the attitude of the teaching staff towards students. All the professors, and especially my supervisor, Ing. Robert Bešťák, Ph.D., are always ready to guide, teach, and inspire.

During my time studying under the academic mobility program, I developed skills in:

  • improving my language proficiency (Czech and English);
  • wisely managing my time;
  • cultivating a stronger sense of responsibility.

It was very insightful to become familiar with the Czech educational system and to be inspired by it. I received the kind of education that the founder of pedagogy, Jan Amos Komenský, spoke about: “ Education should be truthful, comprehensive, clear, and robust.“ For me, the Czech Technical University has become a place of consistency and hope.”
